Event Overview
Come run, jog, or walk with us on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 as we celebrate the life of Ryan Shaw and support The Ryan Shaw Foundation. Runners and walkers of all abilities and ages are welcome to take part in this memorial event.
All participants will be timed via chip-technology through RunSignup. Dogs and strollers are welcome at the event, however we ask that those running or walking with a dog or stroller position themselves towards the back of the starting line for safety purposes. We encourage those not running or walking in the event to come out and support their friends and families at the finish line!
What to expect on race day:

DJ-style music before and during the race, with a live musical performance by local artist Dylan Rockoff following the race

50-50 Raffle (announced after the race)

Light food/drinks, snacks, and giveaways from our sponsors

Finisher medals for the top three (3) male and top three (3) female participants

The Course
The Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K is being held at scenic DCR Artesani Park located at 1255 Soldiers Field Road in Boston (part of Christian Herter Park).
​
The course is a 5 kilometer (3.1 mile) loop route along the Charles River. The race begins at Artesani Park (adjacent to the parking lot) and follows a bike path along Soldiers Field Road and Greenough Boulevard. This scenic route is flat and paved. There are no street crossings necessary during the race.

Given the expected participant turnout on race day, runners and walkers will be broken up into waves of ~300 people with 10 minute intervals between waves. This is to ensure participant safety and appropriate course capacity.

Parking & Directions
Free parking is available onsite at DCR Artesani Park (adjacent to the finish line area, directly across the street from the Days Inn). The lot has 224 parking spots and does tend to fill up quickly during favorable weather so please plan accordingly. Alternative parking can be found at the parking lots along Soldiers Field Road.
Parking is not permitted directly on Soldiers Field Road or in the Shaw's/Petco/McDonald's parking lots and are at risk of being towed. Please use designated parking lots only.

The closest public transportation option is the bus (70, 70A or 86). Please check the MBTA bus schedule or Google Maps to confirm the Saturday schedule.
